Actually that's not true I went to the gym yesterday yes I am a functioning human being.
So a few weeks ago while I was faffing about hand lettering, I fell down an internet rabbit hole as you do, and saw some pretty cool mandalas. I thought, why couldn't I do that shit ? All I need is a compass and a free afternoon, which, being a lazy hoe, I have a bundle of.
So I started doodling and I hadn't realised before starting how much maths was involved. Not like, complicated math, but ugh everything has to be precise and calculated.
Other than that, honestly mandalas are pretty easy, you can kind of do anything and as long as it is regular and symmetrical it will look cute af. I draw pretty much the whole thing out in pencil including detail, but that's only because I'm a beginner, I assume after a while you just kinda wing it like a pro.
Also side note, there are some pictures of what materials I use; the same I use for hand lettering, which are Pigma Micron Pens and a mechanical pencil. My compass is one with interchangeable bits on it, so I can have a lead screwed in or attach my own pen/pencil, which is the main reason why I bought it. It was inexpensive, only about 5 euros, and I would totally recommend one like it for the price.
Hope you like my slightly cruddy mandalas, hope to see y'all back again soon !
